Ingredients

4-5 spears of asparagus
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons artichoke and arugula pesto (recipe follows)
2 slices smoked gouda
1 tablespoon softened butter
1 tablespoon grated parmesan
2 slices of your favorite bread
1/4 cup raw pistachios
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup flat-leaf parsley
1/2 cup arugula leaves
1 cup artichoke hearts (i used canned, rinsed and drained)
Juice of half a lemon
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
