When the kitchen is your favorite place in the house, counter space is at a premium. Especially if you don’t want to constantly lug your food processor, your stand mixer and your slow cooker around all the time.
When you want the best gadgets but don’t want to lose more precious space, here are some great choices to revamp your kitchen.
Switch from that coffee maker to a French Press. Easy to stow in the cabinet and coffee-lovers swear it’ll give you the best cup around. With all the money you save from buying one of those expensive big coffee makers, you can get yourself a nice Burr grinder to go with it.
You probably don’t need that big blender as much as you think you do. Switch to an Immersion Blender and you can still make smoothies and soups but you can throw it in a drawer when you’re done.
Pass on the toaster oven and stick with the old-school 2-slice toaster. Bigger jobs can be done in the broiler of your oven
A lot of the work of one of your big food processors can be done with a much smaller version, like the Cuisinart 4-cup mini processor.
There’s nothing wrong with going old school. You can still find a wide assortment of hand-mixers. And you may be surprised with just how much better your purees and soups turn out using a food mill instead of something electric.
