I'm loving all of the new Spring cosmetic releases. I've been inundated with bright, fresh new colors and clean, green, woodsy fragrances. I can practically smell the fresh-cut grass. Here's what I've been checking out.
Didn't know Crabtree & Evelyn were in the polish game? Neither did I until I heard it straight from the goose's mouth. They recently launched a new nail line - including 21 gorgeous colors, from neutrals to lights and darks to brights. They apply beautifully, dry fast and are formulated without the toxic chemicals commonly found in nail polish, leaving you with a rich, eye-catching color that lasts. Check out my manicure in with Crabtree & Evelyn's Pistachio Nail Lacquer. What color would you choose? Be sure to check out their new Nail Polish Remover Wipes, too. They're lovely.
The new Absinthe Purifying Hand Care Line by The Body Shop is infused with refreshing absinth extract and moisturizing community fair trade shea butter. The entire line - including purifying hand wash, cream, butter and gel - hydrates hands and leaves them smelling as good as they feel thanks to notes of bergamot, petit grain and neroli. My good friend tried the hand cream and thought it "smelled very green, pleasantly so! And it fells so good on my skin, really gets rid of the winter dryness!" And there you have it. Now go try it for yourself!
The newest fragrance from the unique Demeter fragrance library is Oud - also known as Agarwood from tropical Agar tree. This unique fragrance is created when the wood of this tree is infected with a certain mold variety that produces a precious, dark and fragrant resin from which is where the perfume ingredient is derived. Demeter has isolated and refined Oud into a wearable, single note scent while maintaining its full, rounded and enveloping nature – all, without overwhelming, in the traditional Demeter style.
Reviewers on Demeter's website describe Oud as " light, a little spicy, a little earthy, downright sexy" and "...warm and incense-y, with hints of something more woodsy. A good winter evening by the fire scent." Try it out and see what you think!
