What to Make for Thanksgiving? Reservations!

By Megan Capone

This year let’s make Thanksgiving about taking it easy, relaxing with family and letting someone else do all the work. Is that a collective sigh I hear?

Today’s families have so much going on these days with work, school and activities. It’s a rarity when a family gets a chance to sit down to a meal and really relax. Thanksgiving is typically a time when most families can get together and relax around a meal. Of course, if your family is anything like mine, it’s relaxing and enjoyable for the men and kids – but not so much for the women who spent much of the day (and preceding days) cleaning, baking, cooking and then cleaning again.

Let’s make it a relaxing day for everyone this year. Let’s make reservations.

According to the National Restaurant Association 2011 survey, over 30 million Americans visited restaurants for Thanksgiving last year.

Here are the top reasons why:

  1. Convenience (31%)
  2. Travel (22%)
  3. Prefer to go to Restaurants on Special Occasions (15%)
  4. Dining Companion’s Preference (15%)
  5. Don’t have space to host (12%)
