When we took an informal poll here at RedPlum we were suprised to find that we're guilty of committing several of what folks think of as the 7 worst yard decor mistakes. (We would claim youthful indiscretion...but some were last year.) Sure, trees and bushes are bare about now, but being desperate for a bit of color spied from inside your windowpanes is no excuse for introducing embarrassing displays to your yard spaces. To wit, RedPlummers, the top seven green space decor traps. In fact, when it comes to the temptation of these seven outdoor eyesores, may we suggest running in the opposite direction, as fast as your fleece-booted feet can carry you?
1. Holiday Lights, Here Forever. Ah, ye soft-hearted parents, who loathe disappointing their little ones by depriving them of festive light displays until next November. Take heed: holiday displays well past their expiration date are optic cruelties, and blights on those whose hopes for an early spring have them looking for groundhogs in every shadowy corner.
