The fast-action team game of paintball is increasingly popular for families with active children (and parents.) While a day out and some competitive adventure sounds like a super time, can your family afford to splurge on the event? We take a look at how much it will run a family of four, and what you can do to trim a little off your final total.
For the Occasional Players
If you're family is unsure how much of a "hit" the shooting game will be, you may consider renting all your equipment for the first few times. Families looking at paintball as a special treat (and not a potential part-time hobby), will appreciate how affordable renting can be. For less than $30 a person, you can usually get a gun, air cartridge, safety equipment, and an initial supply of paint. Note that field admission fees may be extra (especially if you rent from a store and take it with you to play somewhere else.) If you're a bit trigger-happy, you may need to purchase additional paint, as well. A day of paintball for a family of four will run between $120 and $150 for a full afternoon of play.
