With a sea full of options out there this summer, finding the perfect swimsuit can feel like a daunting task. Between the countless cuts, styles, and colors that seem to be splashed across summer this season, it comes as no surprise that a girl can feel like she’s drowning in decisions. But at a time when it seems that almost anything goes, seek comfort in the fact that your concealing one-piece is just as stylish as a string-clad bikini. So this year, we’ve decided to put less emphasis on trying to look glamorous in that slinky two-piece and more on finding the perfect pattern to flatter what you’ve got! So went ahead and searched through an ocean of options to bring you the most fashionable and affordable suits of the season.
Ethnic or global patterns have taken the fashion world by storm, and this boho-chic print looks surprisingly sophisticated splashed across swimsuits. The crazy patterns help divert the eye from trouble spots, and the "grown up" shapes make for a fun option if you’re sick of plain old stripes and polka dots. We love this flattering Halter Print Ethnic Tankini by La Blanca. Or, if you’d prefer a two-piece, try this island-meets-tribal swimsuit in rich, jewel-tone hues from Victoria’s Secret.
The newest trend to hit the sand was inspired by the beach itself! Coral, sea shells and starfish are popping up all over apparel, jewelry and now swimsuits. At first we thought these patterns sounded a bit juvenile, but they we saw a few suits that made us think otherwise. We absolutely love this Seashell Bandeau Top from Victoria’s Secret. It’s the perfect balance of trend and classic style, much like this coral-clad Halter Top Bikini which would easily brighten up any day at the beach.
If you’re in favor of florals as much as we are this season, we’re going to let you in on a little secret: the bigger you are, the smaller you should go print wise and vise versa. So if you’re a little on the thicker side or have a large bust, look for a suit with a smaller floral print like this halter tankini from Victoria’s Secret or this two piece by Aeire. But if you’re super thin and don’t need to worry about larger prints making anything look bigger, try on this one piece from Old Navy for a super chic look.
Patterns in Black and White
This classic duo of hues makes for one of the most sought after suits this season. The color combination is universally flattering and works in just about every pattern. Whether it’s checks, stripes, graphic design or florals—grabbing a suit in black in white will show up bold in living color. (Old Navy is on board with this trend, serving up this style in almost every pattern imaginable.) If you’re a classic country kinda gal, try on the Gingham String Bikini , or if you prefer a little more coverage, try on this One piece halter swimsuit. Either way, you’ll be sylin’ along the shore in black and white and are wearing the suit that best suits you!
