Joseph in Connecticut isn't totally against the generic heart-shaped box of chocolate. He's simply planning to dump out the candy, and turn it into a more meaningful present for his wife this Valentine's Day.
This crafty guy's present is a box of I-Love-Yous, detailing all of the little things Joseph loves about his wife, and some of the memories they have shared. He'll start out with the empty heart box, then blow up a photo of his sweetheart to around the size of the heart. Using scissors he'll trim the photo to fit on the box top, and secure with glue. The bottom of the box will get the same treatment, with another photo of his lucky Valentine. And then come the love notes. Joseph plans to write exactly 31, then fold each piece and place it inside. We're guessing that's 31 for Mrs. Joseph's age, but we hate to out her here...
In addition to buying the heart box to reuse, Joseph will spend his $30 on enlarging the photos at a copy shop or pharmacy and two dozen tulips. At home he'll prepare chicken fetuccini alfredo. What time should we arrive, Joe?
