Beware the Mattress

Do we even have to tell you? There are so many icky things that can lie beneath the seemingly suitable surface of a mattress (even ones that appear to be clean or sold as “like new”.) Jeani Zeiring, an interior designer with offices in NYC and Long Island says, “Mattresses break down after 7 to 10 years so this means that older mattresses are not a good option for sleeping comfort and support. Moreover, older and used mattresses can be a source of bedbugs which are a growing infestation problem. Bedbugs are becoming a mini epidemic and they are transmitted through mattresses.”
