Saddle up for Style: The “It” Bag for Fall
By Kate Martel
This fall the fashion industry is taking a lesson from the west. And we don’t
mean LA—we’re talking about the desert. Suede tassels, fringed boots, animal
skin prints, turquoise jewelry, braiding, beading and buckles are only a few of
the styles that have been popping up in fashion pages this season. Not only are
we digging this cowboy-inspired couture, but we have already claimed our
favorite must-have accessory: the saddle bag.
We fell in love with this bag early this summer, but with this
new rustic spin we’re loving it even more. And now that the trend has trickled
down from the runway, we love that there’s so many affordable options out there
for fall.
Whether you’re
looking for a long-term investment piece, or a little trendy item to add to your
wardrobe, we say grab for a saddle bag! Below are some of our favorites in three
different sizes, and all under $100!
Cole Hann’s Leather Saddle Crossbody Flap Bag will run you about $348, while
the very similar
Mini Turn Lock Pouch by Fossil costs about $55 at Macys.
Small saddle bags are adorable and incredibly convenient. This
Kimchi Blue Flapover Saddle Bag from Urban Outfitters is perfect for a quick
trip to the store, or works well for an evening bag as well. This season is all
about mixings themes and textures, so don’t be afraid to wear a feminine, flirty
dress with a distressed leather bag!
We are all about fringe for fall. It’s playful, fun, on trend and adds a little
extra something to your look. This medium sized
Funky Floral saddle by Susan Nichole has tons of character. We love the
embossed leather, floral print and of course the fringe detail. We say stick to
daytime for this bag, and rock it with your favorite skinny jeans and tee!
Lastly, if you have tons to tote like we do, then you’ll want to reach for an
oversized saddle with enough room to hold all of your essentials. The
Woven Dome Tote by Melie Bianco is the perfect fashion-meets-functional
option. We love the woven detail and the strap or handle option. It will cost
you $99, but this is one to keep forever.
